Volunteering at Freedom Farm:
There are several ways to volunteer at Freedom Farm. You can help with daily chores like feeding and cleaning the barn (requires 2 training sessions). You can volunteer at our events and camps or help with projects or planning events. My current volunteers say that their weekly trip to the farm is their free gym membership and therapy. Anyone that loves the smell of horses and the country air will understand. There is a good feeling of accomplishment when you leave the barn and the horses are happy and the barn is clean.
As you know, there is a lot of maintenance and many projects to be done on a farm. To name a few: barn maintenance, painting, electrical work, mowing, weed eating, manure maintenance, and that’s just a few. If you would like to help in that capacity, please let us know.
Volunteer Training Details:
Volunteers must attend two training sessions. Training is for adults and teenagers (13 and older). Anyone under the age of 18 needs to be with a parent or guardian. If you would like to serve as a family (with younger children), then parents/adults will still need to attend at least 2 training sessions. Once you have gone through 2 training sessions without your children, we will set up an individual family training for you and your children. Then you can volunteer to come out and do daily chores, clean stalls and serve at our events.
Please contact us with any questions or if you would like to go through the training sessions.
